General network software

Hi

I am trying to make a network of 12 XP PCs more stable. I keep falling foul of the "10 Connections Rule" and have had enough.

How can I have a network with more than 10 PCs on it? I understand (finally) that this is not really possible with XP, so which piece of software do I need to make this work? I guess Novell would be a good place to look...
