About a month ago, network response time for the medical application (Lytec)functioned well on the 4 user plus server TCP/IP network that we use. The response time for the medical application has slowed significantly. It slows down as each user logs on to the application. The network admin. has left and we are on our own. I'm new to networking and need guidance in identifying the cause behind the slow down as well as possible solutions. The server and one of the nodes use Windows XP Pro. One other node uses Windows 98 and the two remaining nodes use Windows Millennium. I have also noticed that all of users log on to Windows with the same user ID and password. Could this cause or contribute to the problem. Please note that each PC does have a unique name. I have also noticed that the "Shared" folder that resides on the server is accessed by two different drive letters (E: and F:) I don't understand this setup. Any help is appreciated.
