Hi,
I have a DI-614+ with a Westell DSL/Router Modem (Bellsouth). I am trying to host a FTP thru this. Since I got the router I haven't been able to send out file thru IRC, AIM, or MSN. Now i setup the firewall and everything to let thru certain things, the filters, and applications in the setup for the router, but yet it still doesn't work.
Can someone please help!!!!!
Thank You.

Actually dood im not familiar with the D-link router but ill give you a few pointers:
Use the port forwarding capabilities of your router in doing this try this one:
1. place your PC in a static IP (the computer that you want to use as an FTP server)
2. the port for FTP is 20 to 21
3. access the web based utility of your D-link router
4. go to the forwarding tab (if there's any)
5. input the port 20 to 21 enable the TCP and UDP (if theres any)
6. then place the ip address of your server (the computer you will use as a server)
7. after that power off the PC, router and also your modem
8 wait for 1 minute
9. after 1 minute power on the modem (make sure that youre getting a solid lights from the modem before you power on the rest)
10. After that power on the router and then the computer
im not sure if D-link has a forwarding capabilities but i bet they have. just try this okay?:D

Login to the router.
Select [Advanced Setup > Virtual Server] and enter the following:
a) Specify the private IP of your FTP server
b) Specify the Private Port . (In this case it would be 21 for FTP)
c) Specify the Public Port you want to grant user to access your FTP server. (The Public Port can be the well known port number 21 for FTP or 2121 for access.) See example below.
Click [Enter] and your changes will take effect immediatiely.
Further Information
Example 1
In this example you can leave the Public Port the same as the Private Port. So if your WAN address is 212.35.69.44 all you would need to do is enter ftp://212.35.69.44 and it will go directly to the [192.168.254.2] address.

Example 2
In this example you can change the Public Port to a different port number than the Private Port. So, if your WAN address is 212.35.69.44, all you would need to do is type in ftp://212.35.69.44:2121 and it will go directly to the 192.168.254.2 address.
