Hi all new here but got this problem to resolve
i've just setup a shared internet connection over a 1km link using 2 Buffalo WLA2-G54C 54Mbps Compact Wireless Access Points at the moment it will not work fully, I think i may have one faulty access point and i would like some opinions before i rma it, first i'll call them ap1 and ap2 when i check the signal strength using my laptop and wireless card with netstumbler i get ap1 = -59 dBm and ap2 = -39 dBm.
if i plug my laptop directly into the antenna i can connect to ap2 over the 1km link at 11.0 Mbps use internet etc.
when i try to connect to ap1 over the 1km link i get no connection what so ever, hence i believe this is why the ap's will nt communicate with each other, would the difference in signal strength of ap1 and ap2 be my problem, also i noticed in ns that ap1 showed 2 channels 11 and 14 on the same ap.
I have changed the ap's around with the same effect (still can't connect to ap1)

hope you can understand

thought i better post ap specs

Nominal Output Power 15 dBm (32mW)
Receiver Sensitivity -92 dBm

1 km as in 1000 Meters? 3300feet?

You need to equip the two units with highly directional high gain Antenna, and put the Antenna on towers high enough to ensure a real visual connection, and use a GPS to make sure that they are actually tune to look one at the other.
