Wireless G Router Question

I am in a home where I have more than optimal distance between a wireless xbox and my wireless router connection to the internet. Two questions 1) what is the best way to boost the signal strength so that the xbox will quit loosing the wireless signal. 2) can this be done using another wireless router as I would like to also connect a desktop which is next to the xbox game system.
