I am in need of some network help here.

I am going to try to explain this as clearly as I can.

I am connected through a cable modem using a Linksys Wireless Router (BEFW11S4).

I am attempting to play Links 2003 golf through a network. I create a game at my home on my network. here are the 2 computers I am using:

Gary - 192.168.1.101
Carolyn - 192.168.1.102

Boh of these computers have a static IP address assigned to them.

We can both join the game fine. When I invite my friend to join in from an outside IP address, I can see him, but my wife can't. This is very odd because I opened up every port on the router to forward to both of our inside IP's, but, she can never see him. I am not sure if I am explaining this correctly. I hope this is making sense. I am the one hosting the game (192.168.1.101)

Is it not possible to have a LAN game going at the same time that someone with an outside IP address tries to join ? any help would be greatly appreciated. I am really going nuts trying to figure this out.

Regards

Thanks for the help Greenstead, but, I had no luck with those ports.

Here is the part that confuses the hell out of me. when I originally tried to get my friend to connect to me to play this game (Links 2003), I tried searching the internet over and over to find out what port to open. With no luck at all, I became so pissed off that I opened every port (0 to 65000) just so he could connect, and, it actually worked. It was risky opening all of those ports, but, it works fine. I only open them temporarily while playing my game.

Here is where my problem begins. when my wife (192.168.1.102) tried to join the game that I am hostong with one of my friends connected to me, she only see's me (192.168.1.101). It is like she can not see anyone with an outside IP address. Her and I could play against eachother just fine, but, as soon as someone with an outside IP adress is involved....she only see's me in the game.

I was thinking that maybe one of the reasons for that is I am forwarding every single available port to my IP address which leaves no open ports for her computer. Please forgive my ignorance but I dont know too much about networking and ports.

Once again, thank you so much for your reply. I really hope this gets resolved or I am going to have to ask my wife to move into her own place so she can have her very own IP address (LOL).
