I want to configure/read newsgroups via OE and I am not able to do so. I have Verizon as my ISP and a DSL connection.

After trying and talking to Verizon many times, thinking it was their the problem, the concluded that is not them. They say I ping(whatever that means) their servers......

I created the account is and it is ready to create the newsgroups, but when it attempts to download the newsgroups so that I can subscribe to the ones I am interesting in it reads: Server not Found, Port 119, Code 800cccd,(something like that)

In the house, there are 3 computers connected via a wireless router and we have the Verizon Modem Model Westell 2200, and the Netgear Model MR814v2 Router. I also have a Norton Antivirus thing with some kind of firewall. ......

I am not the administrator, I did not set this computers, the adm. did and is not willing to even take a look a the issue.

I was wondering if someone can help me out, if it is a firewall and since I am not the adm. how can I go about fixing it so that I can read the newsgroups via OE???
I thank you in advance for any help you might be able to give me.
Thanks.
