i have a btvoyager 1010 usb adaptor, and a buffalo airstation G54 usb adaptor. i am only trying to network two computers. both running xppro, one with sp2. i have installed the software that comes with both, and the two say that a wireless connection is connected, however i cant see the other computers, or share files, play games?!?!?! i have them set up as a Ad-hoc connection

You could try the TCP/IP checklist in my sig.
Wired or wireless really makes no difference.

have tried all of that. now i cant even connect to the inter net on the other pc. can any one give me details of how to use the windows wireless program. one pc has sp2 the other doesnt. the 1 wit sp2 has internet. on the pc witout sp2 i have setup a network, given it the ssid home. on the pc with sp2 i have run the view wireless network program and found my home netwok, and connected to it. both computers say connected but have an ip of 169.245.12.xxx and i cant ping the other. please can some one mak this simple all i want is to share internet connection n play games.

The first step is to ascertain that you have a functional Wireless connection.
Unfortunately seeing a Good signal or seeing the name of your device in the Wireless Properties, or the word Connected, does not mean that you have a working connection.
Getting an IP of 169.245.12.xxx means that you are not really connected.
If you do not have a DHCP server you need to provide a manual IPs to the cards.

ok. how do i know if i have a dchp? assuming i dont, what should i set the ip addresses to and how do i do it. im using the MS wireless configuration as the buffalo software crashes my pc. i have replaced the BT adaptor with a buffalo one of the same type, to make things simpler.
