Hi
I current have a small home network (wired) and would like to incoporate a wireless extension.
My Setup:
1 x Win2003 Server
2 x WinXP Desktop
2 x WinXP Notebooks
1 x 4 port Hub
1 x Modem
1 x Internet Sharer \ Router.
Basically my server and desktop pc's are plugged into the hub along with the internet router.
I would like to incorporate an extension of the network using a wireless setup.
For example: A printer is also connected to the server, if i want to print from a notebook, not situated near the server.
I would like to know the following:
Can this be done, will i be able to plug the wireless access point into the hub (i will probably have to get a 5 port) and then use the same network as the desktops.
What is the best protocol variation to use a \ b or g?
What will a sufficient speed: 108 \ 54 \ 11 mbps for printing, sharing, maybe internet.
Some advice would be much appreciated
Thanks
