Hello, all. I currently have a pretty kludgey network set up. Because of some logistical considerations that can't be changed, my cable modem is in one building and my PCs are in another. The connection is via a Netgear wireless router as seen in the "Current" picture here:

http://www.84dragons.com/network.htm

I'd like to eliminate the very old 4 port hub that currently connects PCs 2 and 3 to the "Main PC" which now serves as the Internet gateway. I'm wondering if I can use a second wireless device to receive the wireless signal from the other building and serve as a "repeater" or "bridge" (sorry, not sure of the terminology) for all PCs. You can see what I'm trying to explain in the "Proposed" picture at http://www.84dragons.com/network.htm

Ideally, I'd like each PC to have its own Internet access through this device. A unit with ethernet ports would be best, as two of the machines are close together. The third, I would connect using a wireless PCI card.

I'm just not sure if A) this is possible and B) what device I would want to buy if it is feasible.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

Bill

Technology it can be done.

However Wireless depends on envioroment. I.e. you need to put on each building a directional Antenna facing one the other with a clear line of sight.

The page describes Bridging options: Wirelessly Bridging Home / SOHO Network. (http://www.ezlan.net/bridging.html)

This one gives the scope of Wireless performance.
