I've just setup my first wireless network. primary PC running Win 98SE, new PC running Win XP Pro, connected as follows, Comcast digital cable modem connected to Belkin High Speed wireless router Model#F5D7231-4, via cat 5 cable, Primary PC connected to router via cat 5 on LAN port#1. New PC connected to router via Belkin High speed wireless G network card Model #F5D7001.
Both machines connect to internet no problem, however after running the Network Wizard, I can see the primary PC icon (on the XP Machine) in "view Network Computers" however when trying access that machine I get a dialog box that says, "\\ "computer name" is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator to find out if you have permission. The network path was not found."
My second problem is on the primary PC, when viewing "network neighborhood" I cannot see the icon for the newXP machine, only the icon for the primary. I've attempted to use some of the answers to related posts, and also tried the AnandTech site, but I had messed things up so badly that I had to reinstall the network on the XP machine just to get back to where I started. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanx, DCM

Go to the network connections properties on the XP PC.
Open the network connection.
General tab->highlight TCP/IP ->properties-> In TCP/IP properties open Advanced again-> In advanced settings select WINS tab -> Check Enable Netbios over TCP/IP.

Try that.

Tried your suggestion, same result, with dialog box.
Also tried to follow the checklist link you provided to no avail.

If you think you have passed every test on the checklist there is very little left.

I would run thro the checklist again and come back with anything that you have a problem to check.
