I have 2 desktops usink Dlink DWLG520 wireless cards plus a D-Link access point DWL2100. System "A" also has a D-Link ADSL modem, DSL302G. Syatem "B" shares the internet connection on "A"
The network works fine until I play music or video on system "B" especially if I play a file located on system "A" . EG file on "A" Mediaplayer or Realplayer running on "B". Then the network drops the link between system "B" and the access point. Signal strength and link quality are +80%.
Any ideas??

Sounds very strange. Presumably the connection drops for any file sharing activities.

Maybe a problem with your sharing method (not ICS?) or a firewall.

Thanks for your input and help.

ICS is set up and works fine 99% of the time, until music or video played from internet or on system B.
Only the link from system B to the AP drops out.
Firewall is disabled on system B and I have tried disabling the fiewall on A but still have network drop out playing music.
System A is network "master" with fixed IP address and assigns IP to system B, normal TCP IP setup. DHCP is enabled, netbios is also enabled.
Other file transfers accross network are OK including transfer of large multi MB files in either direction.
I have also looked at system properties for conflicts, the sound card (C-Media CMI8738/C3Dx) is on IRQ 17 and the network card is on IRQ22.
Is there anything else I can check??

Its a new one on me.
If you can transfer files then the connection and TCP/IP would seem ok. I don't see a device conflict since your soundcard and video are in use much of the time anyway. I wonder if it could be related to directx. Maybe you could try turning off hardware acceleration on sound and video. (I'm guessing now).
I would check for latest drivers for the wireless cards and firmware for the AP. Also all windows updates. I would try uinstalling realplayer completely.

Grasping at straws really.

Have tried disbaling the acceleration for both sound and audio and it still fails.
Funny thing is that if I play a video file from system B on system A then it works just fine, no drop outs.
I have updated media player and downloaded the latest versions of real player to see if this is the problem, I believe I have the latest drivers for the network cards and as system A doesn't fail this would not appear to be the problem.

I guess a full re-install of the system is required.

Thanks for your help to date
