I have set up a small wireless network with the following:
Main Pc running Win XP
Old pc running win 98se - belkin 802.11g card
Belkin router F5D7230uk4
Router is connected to broadband NTL cable and can be seen by XP machine (also tried hand held via wireless and that worked)
The 2 machines share files ect, however the 98se will not see the internet.
I can ping router and ISP!!
help!!!!

Hmmmnm. Well, I don't know much about these things (that's why I joined this forum), but right off the bat there's one thing I have been told and I don't have a reason to doubt it:
I was told when buying my wired/wireless setup that 802.11G is not support in Windows 98SE. I bought an 802.11B adapter for the one computer at my house that still has it (the other two are WinXP and they do use the 802.11G).
You might want to swap that wireless card (save it for later) for one using 802.11B. I was told that 802.11B would allow the Win98SE to connect to the router (802.11G), and it did.
It's a thought!
Sincerely,
Wendy

Hi,
Give Belkin a call on their freephone number : 00 800 223 55 460
I just had to call them to get mine set up.
Can't explain how to do it though, best to let the helpdesk do it !
