Wireless File sharing probs

I have a new laptop which i am trying to network with my old desktop. Running XP Home on desktop, Pro on laptop. Both connect wirelessly to the internet through a linksys router. I have followed the tutorials on this site, have ICS turned off, have turned off all firewalls while trying this just to see if would work, have enabled services Biosnet and comp browsing, both same workgroup different names. Hell, it seems like i have done everything. Funny thing is that the desktop will not recognize itself as being a member of my workgroup, however when I try to view workgroup on laptop, i at least see the laptop there, just not the desktop. Anyway, can anyone tell me what I have missed or what i can try next? I would really appreciate it. Thanks

How are you running Pro? If simple file sharing is enabled then enable your guest account. This link should help
