Hello Group.

Got an interesting arrangement I could use some feedback on.

PC1 and PC2 are located upstairs in an office. Downstairs is a wireless lan that is serving up a DSL connection to the internet

PC1 is an XP Home (SP2) machine which uses a wireless LAN card to connect to a LAN solely to access the internet via a DSL connection.

PC2 (XP Home, SP2) is directly connected to PC1 via a crossover cable. This was done for file/print sharing. This works great, no problem at all file/print sharing between these two boxes.

What is not working is Internet Sharing between PC1 and PC2. PC1 has intenet access via the wireless lan but I've not been able to share that connection with PC2.

What should I be looking for? I'm thinking we ditch the crossover cable, stick a wireless PCI card in PC2 and let 'er rip.

But, can the existing config be made to work?

Thanks!

You could try using XP's ability to bridge connections. (i.e. the Wifi card to the ethernet card in PC1).

Read windows help and support for an explanation and how to do it.
