My client machine cannot send email. It can browse the net and recieve email but not send. I did some further digging and found that pinging a domain returns "Ping request could not find host www...." and pinging an IP retuns "192.168.0.3 Destination Unreachable"
When I try to check the mail I get an error "Unable to find e-mail server". Both machines can browse the LAN and I can ping the main machine and router from the client.

My setup is:
Main Machine running win2000 pro. Using a wireless Netgear router for the Lan and connected to the internet via satellite. IP of machine 192.168.0.1 and IP of router 192.168.0.3. All windows updates downloaded and installed.

Client machine running winxp pro and also has updates installed except sp2.

I have a firewall installed on both machines and have tried turning these off but still no email sending on client. The main machine works fine, eg Ping ok, email ok, net ok. When I use nslookup on client I get "Can't find server name for address 192.168.0.3: Server Failed" If I type in nslookup www.yahoo.com I get Server: Unknown, Adress:192.168.0.3.

This is driving me nuts, everything was working fine and now this.
Any help apprecaited

From your descriptions, it sound like the DNS settings may not be correct on the non-working machine. You might check the settings against the working machine to see if any differences can be spotted.
