I am sure this type of message appears every day, have checked back posts and decided to ask if someone could point me in the right direction quickly. Recently purchased a dlink router and have three computers all with windows 2000 pro sp4 installed, all happly connecting to the internet and would like to do some simple file sharing and all to use the one printer. I was told there is a wizard that could help me to set this up and wonder if someone could point to where to find it.

I have two laptops both with fresh installs of Windows 2000 Pro.
The Main laptop has wireless card and connects to the internet perfectly.
It is connected to the other (Client) with a xover patch cable.
Both computers are using DHCP enabled in all NIC's and share files ok.
I have enabled "share" on the wireless LAN but am unable to access the
internet from the Client.
I have followed the procedures in this link to the tee and still having problems.

Does anyone know of anyone that I could email or phone to get some one
on one assistance with this. I'm sure its just something simple but beyond me.
Below are links to gifs of the "ipconfig" info taken from both laptops.

Once this is set up I will be accessing the internet through a modem when I'm on the road in motels when broardband is not available. Am only using this set up for setting up purposes.
Thanks to anyone that can assist.

Cross-posting doesn't get answers any quicker. It just confuses things, if different approaches are explored.

If the cross-posted issue(s) is still outstanding, please pick one of the duplicate posts and stick to it. It keeps things easier for all.

Super Moderator.
It is very difficult and time consuming to response to your cross
posting charge, but as you took the time nearly 3 months later,
I will.
This was my first dated 5th Feb'05
http://forums.practicallynetworked.com/showthread.php?t=5144
Jack had kindly responded and I had already followed those pages.
After nearly two months with no luck fixing my problem, I decided to
reword my request for help (which was not a cross post) which also didn't
receive any response, except your charge of cross posting 3 months later.
At that time of the re-written request for help, I thought after, it maybe
because I posted it in "wireless networks" and being new to the forum
noticed a "sharing" forum so posted my request for help in this, I felt,
more an appropriate forum.
Looking back, I suppose this was a cross post, having had no response,
and was getting desperate, so for this cross post I humbly apologize.
No one was able to answer to the original post or the "cross post" so
ended up paying big bucks to get problem solved. Was an extremely
simple solution and will certainly help anyone out when I see a similar
ICS question.

Please keep in mind that this is a "best effort" arrangement. No monies is getting exchanged and no expectations are being offered in any way. There are no guarantees of correct answers or even timely ones. If you do need either or both, then you should consider seeking professional paid assistance with guarantees across both areas.

Why waste your time with ICS, when routers are less than $15? I believe someone even has a pocket wifi router out now for business travelers.
