My home laptop, with an internal Dell 1350 WLAN 11b wireless card, running Win XP SP1, worked perfectly for months with my 11b SMC Barricade wireless router. It has suddenly lost internet connectivity but yet ....
1. the wireless icon says the link quality and signal strength are excellent
2. it still works perfectly in the office with a new Belkin 11b/g wireless router and an old Belkin 11b wireless router, meaning there is nothing wrong with my wireless card
3. I bring 3 office laptops home and I have no difficulty setting them up with their different internal 11b wireless cards to work with my home router, meaning there is nothing wrong with the router
4. the strange thing is, ipconfig says my router assigns the Dell WLAN card the correct ip address but when I ping the router, the loss is usually 100%; if I hard-wire my laptop to my router, that works; or if I plug-in an old Actiontec 11b wireless PCI card, that works too (which is how I am sending this message)
Please help! What could have made my wireless card and router to suddenly stop talking properly to each other and yet they are quite happy to talk to other routers/cards?
