Hi, I have several questions. They are actually mostly theoretical. I have been involved with both *nix and windows based networks quite a bit, so I would appreciate as much details as you could give as far as answers.

My first question is. In order to create my own domain name. Do I need to run a DNS server. (Domain as in local domain, not *.com)

Secondly, can I use this DNS server (will probably be Bind) to use as the primary host resolution server for Sendmail 8.9.x.x , if the Sendmail server were to send email to the internet. Also can I do this set up with a dynamic IP through a service like no-ip or dyndns.

Tertiary, if I can not use the local DNS server to translate hosts can I use reverse lookup on the dyndns address to generate a host name. Also if I do this are there any issues I should know of if I am behind a router (Linksys Befsr41 and Linux Redhat 8 NAT)

I appreciate any help you can give me. Also if anyone is halfway decent with the whole m4 sendmail.mc > sendmail.cf thing and what lines in sendmail.mc I should comment out/change etc. I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks again.
