I like the idea of a single appliance that serves the function of modem, wireless access point, router and SPI firewall, all with 802.11G and WPA capability. After reading Motorola's Data Sheet, I bought the SBG-900.

It turns out, according to Motorola Tech Support, that I misunderstood the a spec from the data sheet. I believed, wrongly, that the statement, "Enhanced security featuring Wi-Fi Protected Access," meant that the SBG-900 had WPA. It does not. It means that the 900 can contact systems that use WPA. I must learn to interpret words better in the future.

The 900's going back to CompUSA, and I'll be very careful what I buy from Motorola in the future.
