All - I have an annoying - but otherwise trivial - problem. My new PCcard Linksys wireless network adaptor is fully functional, but makes a very irritating ticking noise which seems to originate in the card itself and which coincides with the flashing of the adaptor's 'LINK' light. Linksys tech support says the adaptor is silent. I know that this problem is not entirely in my head since I've had complaints from standers-by when I've used the system.
Anybody had any experience with anything similar? Is this possibly just a defective adaptor? Or are my ears just too sensitive?
Thanks,
Jack

I have to correct a fundamental error in my own post regarding this irritating noise problem. I listened more carefully last night and the noise is not in fact coming from the wireless network card, but rather from the computer speaker on the same side of the laptop as the card slot. As the noise persists even when I mute the computer sounds, I presume it must be some kind of electrical interference between the card and the right speaker wires. Weird.
I'd appreciate any suggestions nevertheless, but I guess I need to contact Contaq's customer service. Maybe it's time to go monaural!
Thanks,
Jack

That happens too. If laptop is still under warranty, then it's time to execute the warranty...
