I am about to create a wireless network. However, before I begin, I would like someone who can help walk me through the process of setting this up. Here is what I am wanting to do:
1. Desktop (HOST) w/ XP Home connecting to AOL (Dial-Up)
2. TecNew Wireless Access Point 802.11b (WL1002) connecting to Desktop via crossover cable.
3. Laptop (CLIENT) w/ XP Pro connecting to Wireless Access Point via Xircom 802.11 B PCMCIA.
I currently use AnalogX Proxy to get around AOL's non-ICS-self.
First is this possible? Theoretically, it seems like it would. Currently, I am using a crossover cable to connect my Laptop to the Desktop and AOL. However, I am not quite sure if using the access point in between those two machines will cause any problems. If anyone sees anything wrong that would not make this configuration work, please let me know. Also, could anyone provide me information as to what to do or perhaps a link that would assist me in this learning experience. Thank you in advance for your assitance, as it is GREATLY appreciated.
