Hi

I just installed a Linksys wireless-g PCI adapter (WMP54GS - the model with the speed booster) on an old win 2000 system so that it could connect to our wireless network (which runs from a linksys wireless-g router, WRT54G - non speed booster model.. if thats an issue).

the network itself runs fine (this computer and another laptop are currently connected to the internet through it)

however, the win2000 system can't seem to access the internet. i can see that it detects the network and it can connect to it (the linksys WLAN monitor says the signal strength is "3 bars"), but it doesn't recieve any packets. Also, i can't access the router config page from the win2000 system (but i can get to it from both the other computers). The SSID and the WEP settings are all correct.

also, i tried several ping tests from the command prompt (the win2k pinging itself, the other computers pinging the win2k and vice versa) and it seems that the win2k can't ping them and they can't ping the win2k, but the win2k can ping itself... if that means anything...

anybody have any idea of whats wrong?

thanks

If you can not access the Routers config. page it means that there is No real connection between the Wireless Client and the Router.

May be this can Help.
