Hi guys,

can u help with this problem.

I have 2 comps running XP,
One linksys router connected to a dlink modem,
and also a wireless AP connected to the router.

One of the comps is connected wired to the router, while the other is connected to the network via the wireless AP.

My problem is that randomly the "wired" computer will announce in the status bar: "network cable unplugged" then a few secs later it says "network connection available". When this happens, i temporarily lose internet, meaning my dloads will corrupt.

In other words, it is saying the network cable has been unplugged and put back in, even though i havent touched anything. Now the adsl connection is still active (adsl modem light still on) during all of this leading me to believe it is a problem with the "wired" comp's network card.

HOWEVER, when this happens, the "wireless" computer also loses its internet for a while.

This is a strange problem and so far all the ppl i talk to dun have answers..

Please help!

If both PCs lose the connection at the same time then it seems due to something that is common to both. Which would mean it is caused by either the router, or modem or the ISP.

I would suggest you try a hard reset on the router and reconfigure it. If that does not help I would contact the ISP and report it.
