Hi guys,
I have been having some problems with my home network, namely intermittent connectivity on my pc that is in my basement. It has been working fine until recently. It seems I may be getting closer to fixing it in that by changing channels in my router ( I'm now on Channel 10) that pc tells me that the wireless network is "available". However the router isn't giving it a 192.168.....ip address. When I run ipconfig I'm only getting an ip address listed next to "Autoconfiguration IP address and it is a 169.254.xxx.xxx address, and I can't connect to the net.
I'm over my head at this point. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Gary

P.S. My setup is as follows: I have three pcs, one desktop (Win XP Pro) connected directly to wireless router (Linksys WRT54G), one desktop (Win XP Pro) connected to network via Linksys Wireless "B" USB adapter, and a notebook (Win 2000 Pro) connected to network via Linksys "G" PC card.

Hi,

Is the WRT54G providing corrrect IP addresses to the wired computers? Do you have DHCP on for the router? Is the wireless adapter setup with an IP address obtain automatically.

I'm a moron. All it needed was a Network Authentication Key.
Thanks for replying:)
