1394 Connection?

Can anybody tell me what the 1394 connection is in my Network Connections folder? Is that a firewire port?

Its a firewire port (in Macintosh terminology). I use mine to load DV from my camcorder.

Its also a network connection. You can link PCs by firewire port for high speed comms. (I never tried yet).
