I have 2 Win2k servers and 1 NT4 server on my network and a couple of WinXP Home in some of my user's desktop.
Whenever I do a network drive mapping in those WinXP machines, say Z: to "\\someserver", it'll always ask for username and password. I understand the need for it but the problem is that everytime my WinXP users boot up their system, the mapped network drive could not be restored, they have this little crossed icon on their Z: drive. Then I'll have to go to individual machine, doubleclick on the disconnected mapped drive and type in the administrator's username and password for it to be mapped back again.
However, there are some users which do not have this problem at all. When they boot up their WinXP Home Edition, the mapped Z: which I did for them would still be there.
I've tried make the settings for TCP/IP to be exactly the same. However it still doesn't work. Any kind soul please advise? Thanks...
