Hi,
I just wanted to share info on problems I encountered with new firmware for Linksys WRT54G wireless router:
1. Firmware seems to slow down Dell 1350 wireless card and keeps it from downloading
I updated my Linksys WRT54G to new firmware from original to 2.04.3 & 2.04.4. Prior to update my router was using 2.02.2 and my internet connection was great. Once I updated the Linksys firmware my Dell 1350 wireless adapter card in my laptop (9100) would not connect or connect and refuse to download files.
Prior to the problems I was able to connect to the WRT54G router (firmware 2.02.2) using a D-Link DWL-7100AP (firmware 1.03) and a Dell 1350 (driver 3.40.73).
2. Firmware seems to have difficult with D-Link DWL-7100AP. Updated firmware to D-Link AP but still problems connecting to router. Set AP to mode G only and disabled WEP and still it wouldn't connect. Once I went back to Linksys WRT54G router 2.02.2 firmware the problem went away.
I hope this post helps anyone who is having a problem with their WRT54G and D-Link 7100AP connecting to a Dell 1350 wireless network adapter card.
Everything back to normal now....waiting for new Linksys firmware for WRT54G.
Next post........
