Does anybody know if there are going to be any hardware providers for 802.11b/g/i cards for 16 bit devices like PDA's? Seems like either the 16 bit cards can't support AES encryption that 802.11i requires...or vendors are only making these in Cardbus.

I'm not sure I understand the question fully.
802.11i (WPA2) was only ratified in June.

802.11b cards (with WEP) are available for PDAs.
e.g.

I personally like Dells wireless PDA which has the WiFi forerunner of 802.11i (WPA) encryption.

We can expect a flood of new products with 802.11i in the near future.
I have a number of devices (pda's and laptops) that do not have a cardbus slot. I would like to get these on an existing 802.11b network that is going to be upgraded to support 802.11i.
My problem is, i cannot find a hardware provider that has 16 bit cards that will have the processing power to support the AES encryption that the i standard requires.
Does anyone know of any vendor that is going to be providing a 16 bit pcmcia or compact flash 802.11b card that will support 802.11i? Everywhere i look, the cards are cardbus!
Thanks

I did not see any manufacturer making a statement about there intentions to manufacturer 16bit compatible 802.11i.
The way it goes currently I doubt that there will be such a thing.
:(
Somebody has to address this void...there's a definite market out there because of legacy handheld devices and laptops that do not have cardbus or USB.
