I just bought a Belkin Wireless Network Card for my Dell Inspiron 1100. I want to connect to a 2WIRE router for Internet access. My friend’s computer is a MAC and his Internet connection/signal is fine.

My wireless card had excellent connection when I first installed it. The only problem was getting on the Internet. It said, “Page cannot be displayed,” when I tried connecting. So, I got an access number from my friend. Before I got the access number, I was fooling around with Windows XP networking connections and I think I unplugged a cable. It says, “Network cable is unplugged,” every time I try to get a signal. The Belkin card is in Local Area Connection 3 when I enter network connections. Also, the Local Area Connection for Broadcam 440X 10/100 Integrated Controller is unplugged.

Two questions:

1. How do I go about getting the cable plugged back in?

2. Where do I put the access number on the Wireless LAN Monitor Utility?

Thanks in advance!

Todd

You may be referring to the WEP settings. Your wireless card's manual should be able to point you to the right place, if you are using the wireless manager from Belkin. Belkin support should also be able to walk you through as needed.
