Hi,
For various reasons I'm unable to get any form of wired internet
connection where I live, but an ISP in my area offers wireless broadband. They only offer one form of hardware installation
which is the Linksys WET-11 ethernet bridge. This is all good and
fine, however what I already have my own adhoc wireless network and I am planning to get a wireless VoIP phone and don't wish to have a computer turned on to be able to use the phone (phones to do this exist). I would also like to be able to
have a firewall between, the net and my system. Whatever I choose will probably need to allow VPN through.

This is where my knowledge falls down.

How share a wireless internet connection on a wireless private network, and adding a degree of safety with a firewall, and prefably not having to use a computer.

PS. I don't have to buy any equipment from the ISP, if I do the equipment setup myself. Which I may fumble a bit but I always get there in the end.

TIA.

The Wireless Broadband services are not providing a uniform connection like regular DSL or Cable.

You can try the following but I am not sure that it would work.

The WET11 is a Driverless Client Card, so you can try to plug it to a regular Router’s WAN and see if it Works.

Cheers.

That's what I sort of expected. Futher research during
the day has uncovered that some routers do often work.

Now I'll have to try and work out which ones do.

Thanks for the help.
