am working on a Dell laptop computer for a customer. We have set them up on a domain and are trying to get the laptop connected to it. The server is a Windows 2003 Server and is running the DHCP server for the network. The Windows XP Pro laptop gets an IP address and will connect to the internet fine, but that's as far as it will go.

When trying to join the domain, the laptop tells me that no domain server is available. I can not map drives or connect to the server or other computers in any way. I also can not ping the server from the laptop or the laptop from the server. Since the laptop is getting it's IP address from the server, I'm not sure why it doesn't see it.

I've checked to make sure that the firewall for the network connection is disabled and that there isn't any other software firewalls running. It did have Norton Client Security running on it, but that has been uninstalled.

Am using DSL with a modem router and switch. The Server is giving the laptop and ip address I can see it renew on the Server when I reboot the laptop. Any Help or sugestions would be greatly appricated, I am trying to trouble shoot this problem remotely as the office is 300 miles from my location. I have pcanywhere on the server.

Thank You for any Help.
