ive got 4 w2kPro and 2 win98SE computers on a peer to peer network. We have been sharing files just fine for several years now and one interesting problem just came up.
Set a folder to share on a W2K machine, share name same as the folder, permissions everyone allow. Everyone could see it EXCEPT the Win98 machines. Nothing I did worked UNTIL I create a new share on the same folder and gave it a different name. Now the new share name shows up everywhere.
Has anyone run into this before? The only thing that has changed is that we just added a large number of new users logins and a few groups (on the win2k machines) to the network.
Also the Win98 machines show a folder as shared that doesnt even exist on the Win2k machine. This has just started also....
thanks
