mirc behind router, will not work

I have been trying all day to get this final bug sorted out with my systems.

Yesterday i brought myself a laptop and a router so that i can link it all up to my home desktop. Works fine, Just i can not access mirc.

The program will load but it keeps saying that the connection timed out, but here is the interesting part when ever i get on a server they k-line me or my domain.

has anyone else had this problem and know a fix for it please.....?

actually mirc will work behind the router all you need is to open up all those ports

I just installed a Netgear 814NA, and use Mirc occasionally.

I did absolutely nothing to the router nor mirc and it works just fine.

I dont know which router you use, but I dont know that any ports need to be opened to get it to work.

Yeah, I got KLINED on a couple of servers too. You need to forward , two ports. 6667 (or whatever the server listens on) and the port for your Identd server. Some servers, alot of which are kind of shady ; D want to know exactly who their users are. This port is usually 1013 but can be changed. Also you will need to forward any other ports you use if you plan on using XDCC transfers.
