802.g router

I am currently using a Direcway 2 way satellite for my high speed internet and an 802.b router to network my various PCs. I am thinking of upgrading to 802.g. Will there be a monumental diference in speed. Any experience that can be shared is most appreciated.

If you are just surfing the Internet, then the simple answer is no. If you do move data around within your own network, then it could improve the transfers.

The high speed link is the bottleneck in most cases for the Internet. If you happen to run something like a web cache server within your internal network or other servers, then the added throughput can be taken advantage of.
