Have AOL on desktop and have a notebook on a wireless (Belkin) connection - can I operate the LAN for file sharing without AOL starting up automatically? If so, how do I do it? Grateful for any help.

Certainly. can I operate the LAN for file sharing without AOL starting up automatically Dunno. I wouldn't put AOL on my PC if they paid me. Really need more info on how your network is configured.
