time it takes to connect to lan re wireless router??

I am using linksys DI-614+ wireless broadband router in my LAN and it always takes about 2 minutes for my Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop to receive a wireless network connection signal when I turn on the laptop. Is this 2 minute waiting time normal?? Appreciate any info on this!

Well, I have an Inspiron also (8100).

Mine takes about that time just to boot what with all the apps it loads up.

How long does it take if the laptop is fully booted and you disable, then enable the connection. Should be quite quick ~15 secs.
