I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 with firmware version 1.50.10 and a Linksys WPC11 version 4 notebook card. They were purchased together as a kit. I recently did the Windows XP home updates to my Thinkpad notebook to support the new WPA security. Latest drivers from Linksys for the WPC11 also. When I enable the WPA on the router with WPA/PSK and TKIP, set the WPA shared key, and do the same on the Thinkpad as per Linksys and Microsoft suggests, I keep getting connected, disconnected, over and over. When all is set in WEP mode, everything works fine.
I put the card in my Satellite notebook with WPA, same thing, set it to WEP works fine. The Satellite has a built in Atheros Wireless-G card, works fine with the Wireless-B router in either WPA or WEP mode.
Is there problems using WPA? Could it be a bad WPC11 card? Should I scrap the Linksys for wireless and use another brand of product? I have not contacted Linksys yet. I have contacted them in the past and found their "tech support" to be lacking at best.
