I have the Linksys wrt54g router with a 98 computer hard wired with ethernet cable and an XP using a wireless adapter. I have been able to get the 98 computer to "see" the XP computer and can push and pull info from the XP. I cannot get the XP computer to see the 98 computer in Windows. I can ping the 98 computer using command prompt. I have created an LMHOSTS file on both computers with the ip addresses and names of both computers and have enabled netbios over TCP/IP on both computers. When I type the "nbtstat -c" command on XP, it does show the 98 computer. However if I type "\\98's ipadd" in the run line, it tells me "the network path was not found". Typing the nbtstat -c command on the 98 computer actually lists both computers. File sharing is turned on, on both computers.

Does anyone know how I can access the 98 computer from the XP?

What you are describing should be the easier of the two directions. Have you double checked to ensure that you actually have a file share defined on the Windows 98 side?
