Ok let's see if someone can help me.

My home network setup.
1 cable modem
2 linksys wrt54g
3 compaq cp2w

Linksys router is hooked up to my cable modem with 2 pc's port 1 and port 2 port 4 is hooked up to the compaq router and is located about 100 feet away on this router pc #3 is hooked up too it on port 1 the wireless laptop travel between the 2 routers
the internet works on all pc's including the wirelees side.

Now for the problem computer's on the compaq router can't see the other computers on the linksys router and viceversa all computers on each router can see all computer hooked up to there own router but not the other router. I have assigned the compaq router with a starting ip address of 192.168.1.15 and the linksys is set for 192.168.1.1 the default . All pc's and the routers are hooked up with cat 5 crossover.
Any help would be grateful

Some thoughts:

I'm not familiar with the compaq cp2w, but you need to clarify how it is connected to the Linksys. I guess you know it should be connected by a LAN (or uplink) port, (not WAN port).

Also confirm the DHCP service is running in only one of the routers and the IP range cannot conflict with the router addresses.

Neither of the above would fully explain the problem you have described, so there is more to this.

Other than that nothing obvious comes to mind given you say the PCs on a router talk OK.

Greenstead :
I just looked at the linksys router it is on port 4 it does not say it is an uplink port like my old bsfr41 had 4 ports plus a uplink .
DHCP is set to on on both router's I have tried to turn off dhcp
after doing so I can't get back in too the router setting page I have to do reset to get in I did down grade the firmware to solve some other stuff. Tommorow night I going to swap out the linksys
router to my old non wirless router with the uplink port.

thanks

I meant you must use a LAN port on the compaq cp2w to connect to the Linksys.

You should turn off the DHCP service on the compaq cp2w.

Ok problem has been solved

It all had to do with the Compaq router, what I did to solve it
I changed the IP address to the same as the linksyy router subnet 192.168.1.100 reboot compaq, then make it and access point. Reboot, then plug the cat 5 into a lan port not the ethernet port ( as GREENSTEAD said ) I did read the manual instead of the cdrom.

Thank you for you time and help
