I have a tower PC conected to an ADSL router with a network cable and a PCI network card. I was wondering if it would be possible to conect my laptop to my tower using a wireless PCMCIA network card for my laptop and a USB wireless conection for my tower? I really hope it is cause then I wouldn't need to buy a wireless router.

You never mentioned which version of Windows you are running on the tower system. ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) is available on 98SE, ME, XP and 200x. With that you can accomplished what you have described by setting up the wireless NICs to operate in the "Ad Hoc" mode.
You might look at the following thread. You are not really saving much with the falling price of networking equipment these days. It's just easier to use the right equipment which will yield better performance in the long run and easier setup.
