I have an XP host and a 98se client set up for ICS. They connect via a hub and can share folders and printers etc. The internet connection is auto dial, has no ICF, and is set to allow full client control. If the host is connected to the internet, then the client can browse the internet. If the host is not connected to the internet, then if the client opens IE no connection to the internet is initiated. The client has Internet Gateway, but pressing CONNECT button in the window always fails. Interesting fact: If the host is connected to the internet and I hit the DISCONNECT button in Internet Gateway on the client, then the internet connection drops immediately, but the Internet Gateway window on the client indicates that the disconnect failed.
ANY ideas, PLEASE!!!
