Wireless Network across 2 floors in a townhouse

Hi,

I have a wireless network setup in my house using a D-Link 713P Wireless Router (802.11b) and Dlink PCMCIA Cards in my laptop and in my computer... The problem is my router is the 1st Floor while my PC is on the 3rd Floor. The signal degradation is really bad.... is there any wayt to boost the signal strength?

At the risk of the obvious, the cheapest solution is to relocate the router to the middle floor. I don't see any other practical solution.
