I have a wired network and want to add wireless. I can't replace the existing router. I have a static ip address. I have tried plugging a netgear mr314 router into my network and my computer into the mr314. (I am trying to get wireless internet on my pocketpc).I cloned the static ip address onto the mr314. I get internet on both the pc and pocketpc but now can't see the other computers on the network-which I need. I don't care if the pocketpc can see the other machines. Desktop runs xp pro. Thanks!

I can see daylight but need more info.

What make/model is the existing router?

Can you make a simple diagram how its all connected.

I cloned the static ip address onto the mr314 What does this mean - what did you do and why?

Thanks for helping:
Our dsl "modem" plugs into the uplink port of the ether16 hub from there to my desk where I plugged in the mr314 and then hooked my desktop into that. Since I have a static ip I went into the mr314 config and told it my static ip and dns protocols so my desktop is now dhcp. I set this up on the desktop (Xp pro) by setting the internet settings in the control panel with a dhcp setup and then on the alternate page the static ip setup and I have been manually plugging and unplugging the mr314 depending on whether I need my pocketpc wirelessly or my desktop in the network

As mentioned, when I have the mr314 in the loop, I lose the ability to connect and see the other wired computers on the network.

I'm still confused.

Whatever it should be connected like this:

My diagram:
DSL modem-> WAN port MR314 LAN port -> desktop PC.

Any PCs connected (wired or wireless) should be set to DHCP client.
