Had fully functional wireless 802.11b network using d-link cards and rounter. Two win2000 and one win98 notebooks. Now added new notebook with winxp and 802.11g integrated card. with all security features off for troubleshooting, new computer can see network and signal strength is good. However, packets are sending, but none are being received. Channel used is 6, SSID is "default" on all. Not using WEP. All parameters on 802.11g card are set to default except the channel which I set to 6 (until I did that, it could not "connect" to the network). Note: all works fine if I connect using LAN wire to router, but I want to be wireless, of course.

Since you are running XP and you have a newer wireless NIC, have you checked to see if the NIC is supported directly by XP? When a wireless NIC is directly supported by XP, the wireless configuration utility from the NIC manufacturer is no longer needed. The XP built-in support can handle the wireless configuration at that point. Running both at the same time can cause difficulties.

If the wireless NIC configuration is in order, then the following nested threads may also provide useful insights.
