I saw the FM114P (Netgear's newest wireless router) on netgear's website and was wondering if anybodys heard anything on it such as its reliability and such. It has a detachable antenna which means that you can hook an aftermarket antenna on it just like the Dlink or Linksys routers i think. Any info from the inside would be appreciated, thanks...

There's a netgear forum here where there are some posts on the FMP114

clutchd,
I have a FM114P connected via RJ-45 to my desktop and to my laptop via a Netgear MA401 NIC. The features, reliability, and stability seem to be right on the money for the 2 weeks I've had it up and operating. Installation, even on a XP and a 98 machine, was easy, even for an 802.11b beginner like myself. The new BIOS adds some great features (disabling SSID broadcast) and Netgear's site is thorough and well maintained. I emailed tech support about the detachable antenna yesterday, so we'll see how their response time is.
My one reservation (notice I don't say complaint) is the range inside my house. This problem could be due to my old house's walls and not the fault of the equipment. I'm going to relocate the router to see if I can improve the signal coverage in the areas I need it most. I don't have another router/NIC combo to compare the FM114P/MA401 combo to, unfortunately. The side of the house with 3 walls (including a fridge and kitchen appliances) has really weak signal, but the other side with one wall and a glass door gets green signal to my backyard fence (~120 ft).
Hope my rambling helps....

No reply yet from Netgear Tech Support....
I'll let you know what happens when I relocate the router.

Well, still no response from Netgear tech support. The good news is that I relocated the router and the coverage substantially improved. I moved the router from the rear of the house to the front. The weird, but good, part is that I can still use the laptop in the rear of the house.

Netgear got back to me today. Here's there response:
"Hi Jeff:
We currently do not sell an extra antenna for the FM114P, for extra
range, etc...This may change in the future however.
To prevent unwanted access into your wireless network, you can set MAC
address authorization, where only the specified MAC addresses in the
list will be able to gain access to the router and Internet access. This
is set within the routers web interface.

10 days to get a reply is way too slow in my opinion.
