I have no experience of routers, in particular ISDN.

I would like to know if it is possible for other software to dial out through them, such as fax software (Winfax). Are there some makes/types that can do this?

yes that would be possible, but the thing is you need to know the port number of this WINFAX, because this is somewhat a special type of software.

Thanks for the reply.

I would seem that it is not that easy and I am making life more complicated for myself.

Maybe for this 2 computer set up it is simpler just to stick to a simple x-over cable.
