Hi All,

I'm using MSN Messenger 5 on Win98SE and have just setup my Linksys BEFSR41 V2.

Now, I setup the Port Range Forwarding to include the ports listed in the "Ports for Special Apps" page elsewhere on this site. Messenger works almost perfectly, but whereas I can RECEIVE files OK, I don't seem to be able to SEND files.

I know Messenger 5 is pretty new and I've been reading all this stuff about it being UPnP compliant, and I know the BEFSR41 V2 has a UPnP forwarding section, so is there some additional setup that I need to do?

I also know that Win98SE doesn't have UPnP built into to OS like XP does - is that a factor?

Any help appreciated!

i didnt quite get the problem, in using a UPNP under the router, you need to place your computer in a static IP, since you know the port of your msn that would be great. with regards to your 98SE, basically its not a factor. :D
