Anyone who needs info on starting a pc from wake on lan, remote desktop connection, shutting down the computer from remote, and notifying you when the remote pc is booted can contact me.. at the moment, I can start, shutdown remote computers from my wireless laptop, and have them notify me (to my wireless laptop) when they have been started, so I can access shared drives or make a remote desktop connection.. Of course you have to be running XP Pro for remote desktop.

Is there a way to turn on the Remote Desktop Service when the remote computer is turned on using Wake On Lan.

The remote computer has Windows XP Pro, connected to a router, and boots up to a user list. ie Mom, Dad, Sister, etc...

What I am trying to do: 1. Wake an off, not hibernating or standby, computer using Wake On LAN/Wan 2. Remote in to the computer and do some stuff. 3. Turn off or leave the remote computer running.

It seems that when XP Pro first boots up it does not turn any services on until a profile is picked.
