Hi, all!
Heres a hard one for ya, crack this...

Well, heres the problem.
I have to computers, a new-ish win XP home, and an old Win ME. I have recently bought a*Belkin USB Direct Connect (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Product_Id=20963)* to network these 2 comps for file and internet connection sharing. i also intend to use the USB D.C. for gaming to.
when the 2 computers boot, they connect to the network, see eachother fine.
The Win ME can access the XP, and see all shared files/drives/printers. but, it wont copy anything from the XP that is larger than about 2mb. If i do try this, the network crashes. The computers cant see eachother, and they complain about the other computer no longer being on the network.
The Win XP can access the ME, view files etc but not for very long. after a while, the same happens: Network crashes.

From what i can make out, the win XP is USB 2.0, and the ME is 1.1. The USB D.C. is compatable with USB 1 (According to the spec).

Another thing: the USB D.C. was released before win XP, but XP drivers are downloadable and separate instructions supplied on the Belkin Website.

Ive tried all the trouble shooting info in the manual, contacted tech support, who (Typically) just gave me what i already know... The install guide.
Ive also tried the network disk wizard on the XP machine, and made the network floppy. but when i ran it on the ME and rebooted it, it bluescreened if the USB D.C. was connected.

Now, i am clueless.
